A log of 20 seconds in my life

The lights changed from red to green,

On cue, I started walking – all alone and,

The hair at the nape of my neck stood up

I was right in the middle of a crossroad

I turned to make sure I had time

That was a mistake

I could see something come straight at me

It made me want to run

But my feet stood firmly on the asphalt

That was when my entire life flashed before me

For 7 seconds, I was stuck

“This place was going to be my end”

Everything around me started moving slowly

And my eyesight got very clear

I was able to see tiny specs of dust; fascinating

The sound of the tires screeching was loud,

The sound of the crash was louder

That was when everything went blank

All I could taste was red (blood)

All I could see were red (lights)

Slowly, I felt my heartbeat going red
