“Oh, she is new here”, everyone whispered as it was way too obvious that it was her first time here with the way her eyes gleamed and lips parted in awe while looking at the orangish-pink hues of the evening sky. She had a jump in her walk as she was eager to try everything this city could offer. She would gaze at the endless possibilities by staring for hours at a stretch at the vast sky, playing a game with herself to find magical creatures in the shape of clouds. This new city opened up new avenues in her creative journey that she used to grapple with previously, and now she weaved poetry in the quiet between dusk and dawn on a whim whenever she wanted. Everyone yearned to see the city from her point of view as they were overwhelmed and dulled by staying in the same place for years, and she was like a breath of fresh air. She would go on and on about the city, describing its beauty from the depth of her heart, and it was a wonder if she was seeing the same thing as everyone else. The city was casting spells on a newcomer (yet again), showcasing its magic to entice a person just long enough to make them fall in love and then leave them dry to fend for themselves. She knew this very well, as it was the case in all the previous cities she resided in. First, she falls in love with it, and after a point, she would do anything to escape from the endless rut she fell into. She wanted this spell to last long; if not, she would have to pack up and leave. She always does.
So what did she see in this town?
The cobbled stones that serve as skipping stones for her to jump on the streets/ the fresh air muddled with the floral scents of various flowers in full bloom during summer/ the crisp air wafting the scents of rainy days during autumn/ the first fall of snow during winter/ the start of a new chapter in spring/ the leaves changing colours like the change of season turning from forest green to yellow to orange before falling by our feet/ rain puddles with a gentle drizzle of rain pattering on it causing perfect ripples/ the never-ending sky in different colours during different times of the day/ the building so majestic in its architectural beauty/ intricate carvings of ancient doors/ castles nestled far away deep in the woods showing that fairytales exist/ the fresh cut lawns in proud display/ the music from cars passing by with their windows down on a summer afternoon/ the love displayed in plain sight/ falling in love on a winter night under a full moon/ the eerie sense of quiet and calm/ strangers greeting one another with a smile and the slightest of a nod/ the fresh smell of baked goodies in the morning/ a little bit of herself/ a lot of her soul.
