Back to Basics

I started this blog in 2017 when I ‘thought’ I had an amazing idea to create stories with another character based on my real-life adventures. It was a leap of faith to start posting online when I wasn’t very confident about my writing. I had no plan as such on how frequent my posts would be. I had an idea to write about the interesting incidents in my life as an adventurous plot for ‘Emily Anderson’. It was nerve-wracking whenever I posted because there were people to give me feedback and it wasn’t like writing in my diary.

I hardly posted content but I could never bring myself to delete the blog or find time to post frequently. I think the main reason for not being able to write was because I stopped observing the little things that happen around me. I always wrote in my diary but it wasn’t a detailed note of my emotions rather an excerpt of the happenings of a good/bad day.

I went off track from what I wished to post for my blog when I wrote the inspirational story of my Ayya. I didn’t feel bad about it though. I loved the fact that I could talk to someone, understand their story and write about it. The series of posts that came after that were irregular and each of its own. I never stuck to a single topic. That was when I changed the name of my blog from ‘Useless Adventures’ to ‘The J World’! I write my blogs based on ideas that strike my head out of the blue, right now. I’m happy writing this way as I started this blog to express my ideas and to keep writing.

I lost sight along the way, but this quarantine rekindled my interest in blogging. I’m more than excited to keep my blog active even if it is by just posting one article per month. I wish to express my crazy thoughts to the world and I can do it best through writing. I have decided to go back to the basics of blogging and learn how to make the best use of WordPress. I don’t have any target audiences but anyone willing to give feedback and support my writing journey will be appreciated. Writer’s block may come and go, but I’m willing to fight through it to see the view past the block. A lame attempt at linking my writing to volleyball from the anime, Haikyuu!

Also, I would like to thank three of my dear friends, Shivani, Shruthi and vv, who always reviewed and gave early feedback for my articles! I got over my inhibitions because of their support throughout my journey in blogging.

2020 may not be a good year for the world but it has brought new beginnings for ‘The J World’!
